Green Graded Family Adventure Holidays 1-3

Our small group family activity holidays and adventures are all graded Green. All that you require to join these group trips is enthusiasm to try out various outdoor activities and a basic level of fitness. No previous experience of any of the activities is required, as our guides are used to working with beginners and with families.

A reasonable level of fitness is useful, as you will have a couple of full days outside. However, our guides will pitch all activities at a level suitable for the group. Group sizes for these trips have a maximum of either 8 or 16 people. For trips where the group size is 16, the main activities will generally be split into two smaller groups of 8, and our guides will place families of similar age and ability in the same group.

These group trips are designed for families with children aged 8 or 9 – 15 years old (please see the recommended age in the trip dossier). However, if you have slightly younger children who are fit and active, we may be able to accommodate them on these trips – please contact us to discuss this. For families with older children, we recommend one of our trips for individual families.

Families on this trip will be based in either a guest house located in the village of Arisaig or on the shores of Loch Morar; or in a family-friendly Highland inn. The exact accommodation used depends on availability at the time of booking.
The accommodations we work with have a 3-star rating (or equivalent) and are locally owned and managed by family-friendly owners. Prices are based on your family sharing a family room but we can offer separate rooms on request (this usually costs more).

Breakfast each day is included in the cost of your holiday, as are some packed lunches. Evening meals are not included but can be taken at your choice of various restaurants, cafes and hotels in Arisaig and the nearby villages of Morar and Mallaig.

Trip Details

Treat your family to an adventure holiday in the Highlands of Scotland!

These trips are designed for individual families to enjoy and are best suited to families of 4 or more people (we recommend that smaller families join one of our family group trips where they can join up with other families).

The various itineraries combine outdoor activities (led by our guides) with free time to spend together as a family. The options range from 4-7 day trips, some involving a wild camp on a small island, accessed by canoe. Whichever option you choose, you’ll have a great time!

The itineraries are designed to bring parents and children together using the unique experience of the great outdoors. Based near the village of Arisaig in the West Highlands, you can choose a trip on dates to suit you. Come and experience the wonderful West Highland of Scotland with your family and give them a holiday to remember!
