Pre-Trip Service
Great customer service assistance in helping us decide the best route to book.
Trip Comments
Both castles we stayed in were excellent, and we very much enjoyed visiting Glencoe valley and the island of Iona.
Accommodation and Food
Great customer service assistance in helping us decide the best route to book.
Your Guide
We had a very difficult time finding trail heads, and wound up giving up and hiking a different mountain. GPS format would be much better.
The Bottom Line
Great trip overall, loved the accommodations and exploring the Highlands. Most inspirational moment was after we couldn't find the trail head, feeling very frustrated we wound up climbing to the top of a three thousand foot peak by mistake. The views were stunning.

Trip Details

Experience the thrill of staying in a genuine Highland Castle – the perfect way to indulge in a luxury break in Scotland, rich in history, culture and regal ambience.

We’ve selected a few of our favourite castles across the Highlands and Islands, offering a choice of locations and styles.

From a haunted 16th century tower house castle in Argyll to a 17th century exclusive-use luxury castle on the banks of Loch Ness, there is something for everyone, whether you are travelling as a couple or with friends or family.

These breaks are designed to be self guided but we can customise your break if you would like to include some guided activities. Come and experience life like a king in the Highlands!

Please note that a car is required for these breaks as public transport is unsuitable for reaching the castles or for exploring the local area. Car hire is not included within the stated prices. However, we are happy to arrange this for you on request, with collection from Glasgow or Edinburgh.

Highland Castle Experience – The Castles

We have selected castles in locations aross Scotland, including Argyll, Lochaber, Loch Ness and the Outer Hebrides. The castles each have their own character and you will be exceptionally well looked after in each of them.

While staying in a castle, we encourage you to get out and explore the local area. There is great scope for outdoor activities in each destination and we provide an information pack and maps to help you get the most out of it. We also suggest less active ways to spend your time in the Highlands!
