Activity Holiday, Perthshire - Individual Families

ABOUT THE AREA

Perthshire and the Southern Highlands

Perthshire is known as Scotland's Big Tree Country so it should come as no surprise that the tallest tree in the UK can be found here! It also boasts one of the oldest trees, in the famous Fortingall Yew tree, which is said to be at least 3,000 years old, and possibly up to 5,000 years old!

Perthshire's mountains, rivers and forests make it a superb adventure playground for the outdoor enthusiast. For the walker, there is everything from gentle forest walks through to some of the highest peaks in southern Scotland, almost 4,000 feet high. Mountain biking facilities are also excellent with both natural trails and purpose built tracks in the area.

Perthshire is a fantastic location for open canoeing and we run many trips in this area. There are large areas of open water such as Loch Tay and Loch Faskally, as well as exciting sections of moving water, such as on the River Tay, which makes for an epic journey for more experienced canoeists.

Being located in the Southern Highlands, Perthshire is easy to reach so is a popular location for our family adventure holidays. These multi-activity trips explore the landscape by canoeing, hiking, gorge-walking, mountain biking and climbing. There are lots of interesting places to visit in your free time too, including castles, distilleries and horse-riding centres.
