We’re all suckers for the latest amazing adventure travel videos here in the Wilderness Office.

Our Top 5 Adventure Travel Videos

It is just incredible what is being made these days and can be seen for free online. So I thought I would share some of our favourites with you. When you get a moment sit back, kick back, go fullscreen and enjoy! Get Inspired! Our Top 5 Adventure Travel Videos.

    1. The Dark Side of the Lens

This poetic short adventure film about a surf photographer has some incredible cinematography. The oppressive raw power of the sea hammers home. But there is a kind of ethereal feel and real beauty captured on film. It offers a rare insight into a world which the vast majority of us will never enter, which is the theme behind a lot of adventure travel.

    2. Northwest: A mountain bike adventure

This film features British mountain biker Hannah Barnes as she explores some of the epic scenery and trails on the North West of Scotland. This was produced by the guys at Cut Media who are also responsible for some of the extremely popular videos of Scottish rider, Danny MacAskill (Check one out here). I really like the simple style which lets the beauty and feel of the area really shine through.

    3. A Story for Tomorrow

A creative, fun and inspiring video from two adventurous travellers as they cross South America. The gravelly-voiced narrator gives a poetic and authoritative feel to the sentiments of the video. Although am not sure how they persuaded Morgan Freeman to be involved! I love the innovative shots and scenes they came up with. You get a real sense of the fun they had making it and the impact that made on them by the places they visit.

    4.   Move

This quirky travel video will leave you scratching your head as to quite how they managed to pull off all of the shots! The filmmakers have produced something truly imaginative while also showcasing some of the amazing places they visit.

    5. Wilderness Episode 3 – Immersion into Wildness

Well I couldnt resist adding one of our own. There is something very special about the North West Highlands. A wild and ancient landscape which offers so much for the adventurous traveller. This short film follows a mixed group of our guests on one of our Canoeing and Hiking trips as they venture by canoe and sleep under canvas as the towering peaks loom overhead and the dark lochs surround them.
