What a summer it has been! It wasn’t long ago I was recovering from some Scottish sunburn.
Although with recent wet weather we felt we needed some reminding of the amazing light and wild landscapes that our guests, guides and team have been exploring and sharing throughout 2014 so far.

Whether you have been out paddling on a sea kayak adventure, floating down the river in an open canoe, sweeping through mountain trails on two wheels or roaming the glens on your own two feet there have been some amazing sights caught on camera. So here is a recap of some of Our Favourite Wild Photos of Scotland in 2014.
The Aurora in the Highlands
Back in February we were lucky enough to be witness to some amazing Aurora displays across the Highlands and Western Isles of Scotland. This was shot in the Cairngorms itself by Rupert from the office. Tim Francis, one of our most experienced guides and a keen photographer also followed up with a cracking guide on How to Photograph the Aurora if you get the chance! According to NASA there is still a great chance of some cracking sightings this winter throughout Scotland.
Canoeing in Aigas
A few from the team were lucky enough to head off on an evening mission to check out a section of river in Aigas. This was a beautiful evening and the river there meanders through some incredible rock walls and dense forest. This is now a part of our Scottish Classics canoeing adventure.
Sea Kayaking in the Outer Hebrides
The Outer Hebrides has had some fantastic PR recently with one of our Outer Hebrides walking trips being nominated as National Geographic’s Top 50 Tours of a Lifetime. The weather up in the Hebrides this summer has been fantastic, as a few of our team can testify! They have returned to the office literally glowing with sun and glee after some epic trips up there. This was shot on our Outer Hebrides Sea Kayaking Wild Coasts trip full of azure waters and endless white beaches!

Skye has to be one of the most stunning places to visit when the weather is right! The craggy peaks that dominate the skyline and the intricate coastline and fantastic wildlife. This was shot by Rupert on a trip to Skye hoping to spot some eagles and seals. Upon returning to the office he persuaded Wilderness guide and wildlife expert, Jonathan Willet to write a blog sharing his knowledge and tips on How to spot Golden Eagles in Scotland.
