FRIENDS, SOCIETY AND CLUB TRIPS

ACTIVITIES

All of our customized trips are led by our highly qualified and experienced guides. Some of the possible activities are described in this section. We regularly create itineraries which combine two or more of these activities for a multi-activity holiday, so we hope that this section gives you some ideas of how to spend your time in Scotland.

Wilderness Walking

Scotland offers superb walking and hiking, so this is a popular request for private group trips. There may be a particular area you want to visit, a mountain you want to climb, a glen you want to visit. Our office team and guides know all of the best walks and hikes in Scotland and can prepare an itinerary based around mountains, glens or coastal walks. This can involve either day walks from accommodation or a backpacking expedition through some of the wildest scenery in Scotland.

Sea Kayaking

We can design a private trip for sea-kayaking groups which will be led by our expert guides. This could be anything from a beginners’ trip followed by a mini-expedition, to a multi-day expedition to remote islands that you are not confident of visiting yourself. Contact us to discuss your needs and ideas. Please note that we do not hire our kayaks out for self-guided trips.

“The experience was beyond expectation from the pre-trip information, the quick responses, friendly staff, to the accommodation and the guides - nothing was too much trouble. The Glenuig Inn will be even better once it is completed; it has good sized rooms with their own front door and a high standard of catering and friendly staff. It is also a great location for doorstep launching. I really couldn't fault it and will go there again. The guides looked after us really well and made the trip for us. They were lovely guys and very knowledgeable about kayaking, the local area and wildlife. Thank you to the whole team for a wonderful experience.  I can't wait until the next time”. Christine Blyth, June 2010.

Open Canoeing

Little can compare with the freedom of paddling your own canoe! Discover the tranquility of canoeing on Scotland’s many stunning lochs, or the thrill of running the rapids on the River Tay in Perthshire. We have some interesting ideas for itineraries up our sleeves, with options for all abilities of canoeist! Please note that we do not hire our kayaks out for self-guided trips.

Mountain Biking

Scotland offers some of the finest and most exciting mountain biking in the world, and we could not possibly cover it all in our regular groups programme. With a private group, we can design a trip tailored to your skill level and fitness, with everything from customised Coast to Coast trips, to mountain biking camping expeditions through the Cairngorms. Please contact our office to discover why Scotland has been ranked the world’s top mountain biking destination two years in a row.

Sailing

We regularly organize private sailing charters for our clients, on both our traditional and modern yachts. Please see the ‘Private Sailing Charters’ section on this website for details or contact us to discuss your requirements.

Photography

We work with Colin Prior and a number of Scotland’s leading photographers on our photography trips. Private trips are also available and can be in many different areas of Scotland. Please contact us to discuss your needs but please note that advance booking of several months is often required if you would like to be guided by a particular photographer.

Winter Walking and Ski Mountaineering

We can organize a number of winter itineraries for private groups, including snow-holing trips, advanced ski mountaineering trips (in Scotland and overseas) and winter skills courses. We can also offer low level walking trips in winter for those of you who enjoy winter scenery but don’t want to learn about ice axes and crampons!

Themed Holidays: Wildlife, Whisky, History and more

If you have a special interest, please let us know. We have created and organised many trips which combine outdoor activities with a specialist subject. From bird-watching trips to the Outer Hebrides, red deer photography trips in Assynt, canoeing and whisky trips down the River Spey or even a hiking trip through the lands of your ancestors, contact us for some original ideas for a special adventure holiday in Scotland.
