Company History
Wilderness Scotland was started in September 2000 by Neil Birnie, Paul Easto and Gordon Birnie, and they were later joined by Stevie Christie. Passionate about wild places, we shared a desire to introduce others to the amazing wilderness regions of Scotland.
We set out to create a range of experiences which would reveal the hidden delights of our country and offer trips which were truly “off the beaten track”. Our first trip was Wilderness Walking in Knoydart but we have expended our range to include a full range of adventure holidays including Sea-Kayaking in the Outer Hebrides and Sailing and Walking through the Inner Hebrides.
From small beginnings in 2000, our concept of the wilderness experience has proved ever more popular and we have grown into a dedicated team of wilderness guides and travel professionals, and are considered by many to be Scotland’s leading adventure company.
