      This position will play a pivotal role in the company, ensuring that our clients experience outstanding adventures through the considered and precise logistics on any given trip departure.

      In Brief:

      • Type – Fixed Term, 6 months (summer)
      • Office Time – 95%  In the field – 5%
      • Salary – £18,000-£20,000 per annum dependent on experience

      What We’re Looking For

      Working as part of the Operations team, the Stores Coordinator will take responsibility for kitting out our trips and take pride in organising our stores, equipment and vehicle fleet. The Stores Coordinator reports to the Stores and Operations Managers and also works closely with our Operations and Guiding team, ensuring that we are delivering our trips to the highest quality standard.

      This role requires a high level of attention to detail and to be prepared to go the extra mile. The ability to think on your feet and provide solutions is essential. Some experience in the activities offered by Wilderness Scotland in particular Sea Kayaking, Canoeing, Mountain and Road biking, plus knowledge of car mechanics and the ability to drive with a trailer would be beneficial but is not compulsory.

      The Employment Package

      • Full time fixed term 6-month ‘summer’ contract with a view to permanent status after first term
      • £18,000-£20,000 per annum pro rata dependant on knowledge and experience

Applications will be acknowledged in brief upon receipt. Further contact will be made in late March 2019 once the deadline has passed with interviews ideally taking place week commencing Monday 1st April. The ideal start date for this role will be Monday 15th April 2019 but we recognise the short lead-in time for this so we remain flexible for the right candidate.


      Whilst the details below do not cover every element of the Stores Coordinator role, they do provide a general overview of what you can expect from the role.


      This role is a summer season role to coincide with the key period of trip operations by Wilderness Scotland.  April – October is the ‘in season’ which involves strict deadlines as trips depart on a weekly basis along with reacting to any unforeseen issues that may arise.


      Aviemore – 95% office based, 5% in the field

      Responsibilities & Expectations

      • Organisation, cleanliness and security of stores and equipment
      • Preparation of equipment & food for departing trips
      • Maintenance and tidy away of equipment & food for returning trips
      • Stock management and rotation of dated goods.
      • Maintenance of stores equipment to the highest standard including sea kayaks, canoes and road bike fleets.
      • Admin duties such as sizing and quantities of equipment and maintenance of records, in conjunction with the Stores Manager
      • Light maintenance and monitoring of the vehicle fleet – 18+ vans/car and 6+ trailers.
      • Communicating directly with guides pre, during and post trip where necessary.
      • Liaising with the Operations Team on trip preparation, information and troubleshooting.
      • Trip logistic support work such as client/vehicle transfers if/when required

      Skills, Knowledge & Experience

      • Practical relevant experience within the outdoor stores environment would be an advantage.
      • Practical experience of all or most of the activities offered by Wilderness Scotland.
      • Good knowledge of the regions where Wilderness Scotland operates would also be an advantage.
      • The ability to drive. Experience in towing trailers and knowledge of car mechanics would be beneficial but is not compulsory.
      • Practical building/assembly skills
      • Strong organisational abilities and able to work off their own initiative when required.
      • Proven time management, self-motivation and dependability to fulfil set tasks
