    Videographer / Content Creator

    Our marketing team needs you

    This position will play an important role in the company, working to promote our 3 consumer-facing brands; Wilderness Scotland, Wilderness Ireland and Wilderness England, as well as our trade-facing brand, the Wilderness Group. We are looking for someone that can tell compelling stories through film and still photography to help the team create and deliver exceptional content marketing.

    Office Time: 60% In the field: 40%
    Salary: £24,000-£28,000 per annum dependent on experience

    We’re looking for someone who has

    Essential Skills

    • Exceptional videography and photography skills.
    • The ability to edit footage so that it tells a compelling story.
    • Expert Adobe Premiere Pro user (or equivalent software).
    • Strong project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Deep knowledge of the areas within the UK that we operate – knowledge of Ireland is also great to have but not essential.
    • Strong general ITC skills and experience with using Google apps and Mac applications.
    • Practical experience of all or most of the activities offered by Wilderness Scotland would be an advantage.
    • A natural collaborator who enjoys working in teams with a diverse range of individuals.
    • Experience filming drone footage.
    • Graduate-level degree and a minimum of 2 years of experience working in a related field.

    Desirable Skills

    • Experience creating motion graphics.
    • Basic understanding of sound engineering.
    • Drone pilot licence.
    • Podcasting and/or YouTubing hosting experience.
    • Understanding of copyright licensing and third-party IP.
    • Knowledge of the fundamentals of graphic design and typography.
    • Comfortable with the technical and creative use of social networks, taking into consideration our target market.
    • A passion for marketing and for expanding your knowledge in all things digital like SEO, design, social strategy, email marketing and performance analysis.
    • The ability to foster a network of interesting people that are related to active and nature-based travel.
    • Lifelong learner and unlearner. The digital marketing landscape is constantly evolving and the ideal candidate has the ability to stay up to date, adapt and acknowledge when certain methods are no longer appropriate.
    • Is committed to sustainability and is an advocate for wild places and our planet.
    • A genuine interest and passion for the regions where Wilderness Scotland operates, wild places and adventure.
    • Good interpersonal skills, awareness and emotional intelligence with an ability to develop and sustain business relationships.
    • A strong and clear commitment to customer service excellence and “extra mile” delivery.
      Excellent attention to detail, even when faced with multiple tasks and deadlines.

    Your responsibilities will primarily include

    The team predominantly follows a content marketing strategy to inspire travellers to consider their brands and therefore this role encapsulates the wide range of responsibilities and tasks linked to that approach. These include:

    Production Planning & Logistics

    Organising shoots including locations, models, props and schedules. Contribution to creative planning. Writing up shoot plans.

    Videography

    The shooting of on-location video footage using a variety of equipment including but not limited to DSLR, drones, GoPro, and 360 cameras.

    Photography

    Delivering a variety of photography requirements for web and social media use such as new trip photography, accommodation, specific locations, profile headshots etc.

    Video Editing

    Editing of comprehensive and engaging storytelling videos, how-tos, trip videos, shorts, series, video ads etc.

    Video Channel Management & Distribution

    Assist with the management and upkeep of all Vimeo and YouTube channels. This includes uploading videos, creating engaging thumbnails, adding captions, writing up first draft video descriptions, responding to comments, and monitoring analytics and trends to help guide content creation.

    Video Asset Management

    Maintenance of all offline video assets offline. Appropriate tagging, naming and storage. Ensuring all content is backed up.
