Me in 3 – Optimistic | free-range | conservationist
Place to play – Snowdonia, or when in Scotland the area around Glen Affric
Not a lot of people know this – I’ve been to the most northerly night-club in the world
Mini bio – I grew up south of London so spent a lot of time trying to get to the mountains. Finally the effort paid off and I began working as a mountain leader in 2012, in and around office jobs, which I’ve now given up for good. I realised I loved nothing more than being in the mountains, so the chance to take other people there has always been a dream. Aside from working all over the UK, I’ve done a few expeditions abroad too, to Svalbard, East Africa and Oman, and on scientific trips to Borneo.
When I’m not leading people in the hills I write blogs and articles for magazines and outdoor websites. I’m also in the process of writing a book. I did a Masters in Conservation so am always keen to talk and write about how we can better protect the mountains and their wildlife. I’ve lived all over the country, from London to the Lake District to Somerset, but have settled for the time-being in South Wales.

Alex did a great job trying to accomidate special requests from the group.Sabrina Hall
Alex was delightful company. Very knowledgeable, and a true mountain guide who at all times made us feel safe and secure. He absolutely got us to places we would have never attempted on our own...and the payoff in terms of the experience was exemplary.Bill Whistler
