    Mini Bio

I have been teaching in the outdoors for 31 years. Originally from Campbeltown on the west Coast, I now live in Aviemore. Over that period, I have travelled and worked in some outstanding Places. Teaching Adaptive Skiing in America and Europe to Sailing to Greenland and Iceland to Canoeing in Scottish Rivers and across the Miles of remote wilderness….

I also love my golf, where we are very spoiled locally with many top quality courses.

    Place to Play

My favourite places are right here and the West Coast of Scotland…

The west with its plethora of islands with all their history and beauty. The Cairngorms National park, you have all the Lochs and rivers and the miles of wilderness to explore.

Not a lot of people know this

I used to sleep walk and on one occasion did so off a yacht into the Atlantic ocean.

Over my time in the outdoors, I have had the privilege of meeting and working with some amazing people with diverse backgrounds and stories to tell. From teaching folk with disabilities in America to exploring Iceland and Greenland and the Scandinavian Archipelagoes, to sitting in ruined buildings from past years on Scottish Islands, I feel very blessed with what I have been able to see and do.

    Adventurer's Stories about Jerry

Jerry and Vick were excellent. Jerry’s superb local knowledge (35 years in the making) was very reassuring. And having Vick backing things up was brilliant, especially when things went a bit wrong. Which, given the river conditions, they did! (Happily I only went in once!)

Excellent is not enough! They worked so so hard. So much knowledge and understanding of the environment. They were so determined to make the trip as special for us as possible. So kind and patient. Upbeat and entertaining.

The guides were very professional and knowledgeable. Worked very hard and we’re very friendly and approachable. Brought everyone together as a team. Should be provided with camp chairs tho.

Jerry and Vick were a very knowledgeable and professional team. They clearly went out of their way to accommodate everyone's wishes. They guided and coached as we went along and I would very happily paddle with them again.
