    The Scottish Highlands. Ancient mountain ranges, jagged with rocky tors. Iridescent lochs that drop to peaty depths. Rivers snaking through pine-filled forests and wild and lonely moors, full of heather and history. Experience the very best of this beautiful landscape, with a trip designed to showcase the crowning jewels of the Scottish Highlands.

    Wake in luxury and spend your day discovering the Highlands: journey to the bewitching Isle of Skye, travel on the famous Jacobite Express, and hike in the spectacular Glencoe. Sea kayak on the wild west coast and travel back into Scotland’s captivating and tumultuous past by visiting burial chambers, battlegrounds and castles. On a trip created by local experts, immerse yourself in the wonder of the Highlands, a landscape and people shaped by fresh air and history.

    The following is an example itinerary but activities can be changed, added and upgraded. All aspects of the trip will be tailored to you.

    Day by Day Itinerary

    Day 1 - Welcome to the Highlands

    Arrive in Scotland and meet your guide. Begin your journey to the Isle of Skye, taking the opportunity to explore some points of interest. Stop at Loch Ness for a boat trip, home to the fabled monster, or choose to visit the iconic Eilean Donan Castle, perched on a tiny tidal island. Reach the shores of Skye in the afternoon and settle into your hotel for the evening, enjoying the best of highland hospitality.

    Day 2 - Discovering the Isle of Skye

    Wake in a cosy room overlooking the water, ready for an adventurous day ahead. Spend the morning hiking with your guide, exploring the pinnacles and hidden glens of the mountainous interior, or head to a wild and lonely loch in the shadow of the Cuillin mountains, keeping an eye out for sea eagles. Enjoy a picnic as you learn about how folklore has been woven into history and passed down from generation to generation. In the evening, enjoy a delicious meal made from the best locally sourced produce.

    Day 3 - Road to the Isles

    Depart from Skye, making the short ferry crossing to the tiny fishing village of Mallaig.  Wander down to the harbour and watch the boats come and go, stopping for a coffee or the port’s prided oak smoked kippers. Join your guide for a beautiful coastal hike, learning about the flora and fauna of the area, before continuing your adventure by hopping aboard the Jacobite Steam Train as it makes its way to Fort William. Spend the evening settling into your beautiful castle hotel, tucked below Scotland’s highest mountain.

    Day 4 - Sea Kayaking and Misty Mountains

    After breakfast, head out to explore the clear turquoise waters and white sandy beaches of Arisaig. Tailored to your experience level sea kayaking gives you a glimpse into a watery world as you kayak around tiny islands, spotting seals, dolphins, and a host of coastal birds as you go. Later return to your castle hotel to enjoy a well-earned whisky and a relaxed evening.

    Day 5 - Cairngorms National Park

    Travel today from the rugged west coast into the heart of the Highlands. On the way, stop to ride the Nevis Range gondola up the slopes of Aonach Mor. Enjoy a short walk to reveal magnificent mountain views. Relax with a warm drink from the hilltop cafe before making your way back down and onwards towards the Cairngorms National Park, home to ancient Caledonian pine forests, rolling purple moors, and 5 out of the 6 highest peaks in the UK. Enjoy a private tour of a closed-doors whisky distillery this afternoon, where you’ll meet with the master brewers and enjoy an exclusive tasting. Settle in this evening to a unique and beautifully-restored farmhouse famed for its locally-sourced, seasonal dinners.

    Day 6 - A Pedal and a Paddle

    For an exhilarating way to start the day take a bracing dip in the plunge pool and then warm up in the sauna before enjoying a leisurely breakfast. Head out with your guide to pedal flowy trails by bike or choose the gentle tranquillity of paddle boarding on a secluded loch. This afternoon choose to go fishing, hiking, wild swimming or just relaxing with a good book. In the evening, sip champagne around a fire pit and enjoy a meal made from homegrown ingredients, straight from farm to table.

    Day 7 - Homeward Bound

    Bid farewell to the Cairngorms and head north to the atmospheric Culloden Battlefield. Learn about one of the most harrowing battles in Scottish history, discovering the true story of the Jacobite Rising from the thoughtful and engaging accredited museum. Bring your Highland trip to a close by journeying back to the Bronze Age, visiting the burial chambers and standing stones of Clava Cairns. Later, transfer to the airport, to begin your journey home.
