    Mini Bio

Hailing from Mallaig, a small west coast fishing village in the northwest of Scotland, I was introduced to the mountains and the sea at an early age. These early experiences have led me to have a full and adventurous career instructing, guiding, coaching and teaching in many locations around the globe.

My passion for coaching and guiding stems from a PE teacher background with a strong outdoor bias, leading me to instruct and coach a diverse range of students and clients across a wide variety of locations.

Expeditions have taken me from sea kayaking off the west and east coast of Canada to climbing in Kenya and mountaineering in Alaska. I have also led and worked on conservation projects with senior school pupils in Mexico, Alaska and Nepal, which I find extremely rewarding. However, Scotland is still top of the list.

Scotland, Scotland and Scotland. Mountains, rivers, lochs, glens, islands, coasts, music and great craic. What’s not to like?
