Wilderness Ireland's customer service has been outstanding from the time I went into planning to book the trip clear through the end. Your representatives were available to answer questions about what I was looking for in my journey, and they provided helpful feedback to assist me in making the right choice. Our guide, Paul, was excellent! He was very knowledgeable about the historical aspects of Ireland, the vegetation we encountered on our hikes, and about hiking in general. He provided excellent tips about safety while hiking. (He even showed me how to help prevent blisters on my heels from my boots, which has been an issue forever, just by changing how I tie them). I was a little disappointed that we couldn't hike Carrauntoohil due to poor weather conditions, but Paul was able to improvise so that the day wasn't a loss. The food and accommodations were top-notch. Each hotel was unique and provided the opportunity to see different aspects of Ireland I probably wouldn't have had the chance to enjoy had I chosen the itinerary on my own. Overall, this was a fantastic trip from beginning to end. Best of all, I felt safe, didn't have to worry about anything, got to meet new people and have great memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you. PS The only thing that might be helpful for the future would be to give some kind of idea about the accommodations. The hotels were all very nice, and I didn't bring clothes to dress more appropriately. I thought "Deluxe" referred to hiking in three different areas of Ireland, and I didn't think about it being a reference to where we would be staying during the trip. The hotels and the food were pleasant surprises.
Accommodation & Food
AMAZING! The accommodations and the food were a complete surprise. I especially loved that the hotels were all unique. Rosleague Manor and the Brook Lodge were hotels in the countryside that I wouldn't have found on my own. The FOOD!! The food was delicious and well prepared. The menus had a great variety of options to choose from. I had the best Tiramisu I've ever had on our last night.
Your Guide
Paul is an excellent guide. He proved to be very knowledgeable about every aspect of our hiking adventure. What I liked most about Paul is that he was mellow, which helped make the trip relaxing and enjoyable.
