It is the company of fellow travellers and friends that really releases the full joy of travel and adventure for me, I have travelled widely during and after a corporate career and I am now fortunate in being able to guide guests through the many rich experiences Scotland has to offer. I have been guiding guests in Europe and the UK for over 8 years and my passion for sharing our great outdoors never diminishes.

Living in Edinburgh allows me to showcase one of the best cities in the world and provides easy access to the stunning wilderness of Scotland.

    Favourite Place to Play

A perfect day involves clean fresh air, hills, walking boots or a bike and perhaps a little sunshine. And the delights of Edinburgh, of course!

Not a lot of People Know This

I had the good fortune to be offered a place on a small team cycling 1200 miles from London to Florence to raise (lots of) money for a UK children’s hospital charity. A fabulous trip, which was capped by being escorted into Piazza della Signoria to be met by the Mayor and local dignitaries. Humbling!

What Fellow Travellers Say About Peter

I loved all 3 guides. They were all personable, interesting, and welcoming. There were some snafus with directions, scheduling, and planning, but they were all charming, which makes a world of difference on a trip.

The guides were all wonderful and engaging, especially glad they were there when the Garmin was in question.

I thought the guides were very good.
There were the usual glitches that go along with any trip, and I think the front office could have prevented some of this.
The guides were knowledgeable and they worked hard to make sure we were all engaged.
    I also enjoyed their company

The guides did a good job. I noted above a few of the things that went wrong. But in general, the guides went out of their way to make things work. Keith had to work out a few snafus along the road the first few days along the road but responded very well. Peter was particularly good at engaging the guests. He had a prize that was awarded by one guest to another each night. That added a note of companionship to the trip. Peter and Simon were also particularly knowledgeable about the area culture and history, That is an invaluable service that guides can provide to the guests!

The guides seemed limited by what the office had arranged in advance. They confessed to having little input. And they could have been more forthcoming in telling us where we were staying and eating.

Again, Simon and Peter were two of the best guides we have ever had on bicycle tours. (we have taken over 15 thru the years.) They have great senses of humor, an extensive knowledge of the communities, geology, politics, etc. of every country that we visited. (Keith was pretty good too) They went over the top in moving our lugguge into our rooms, answering all of our myriad of questions, making sure we did not get lost, adjusting our bikes, and plotting out the next days ride for us. They make it informational and fun. Great trip!!!!! Keep working on those limericks Peter, you are getting damn good at it!

OMG Peter was outstanding!!! He was a kind and interesting person, expert at figuring out what would work for the group, weather, trail options. I liked the amount of walking and the challenge options - felt like he did a good job managing different abilities, which I know isn't easy. Great snack options. Plus he was super fun, in addition to being so knowledgeable. Really can't say enough good things about him!!

Both excellent riders with experience in managing riders of different abilities. Peter’s breadth of knowledge in both natural history and historical sites added much interest to the tour. Finlay’s local knowledge of the area and his different perspective from being raised in Scotland, added a special Scottish flavour to the trip.
