    Mini Bio

I grew up at the foot of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) in North Wales and, more often than my father liked, when there was little else to do, I could be found at the summit eating my packed lunch from the young age of 7. Yes, I did often get into trouble for it. By the age of 13, I had summited all Welsh 3000s, and I can proudly say I have summited almost all mountains in Wales now.

Exploring is pretty much all I know and what I live and breathe for, and there’s little I enjoy more than sharing it with others. And perhaps the odd dram, too.

I moved to Scotland as my great-grandfather is from the Shetlands. As much as I adore Wales, Scotland always has and does feel like home. I also needed a new challenge: new mountains to summit, places to explore, and lochs to paddle. What better way to share this outstandingly beautiful country than to take people who enjoy nature as much as I do out on Wilderness trips?

    Favourite Place to Play

I think in Welsh and have to quickly translate in my mind before I can speak.

Not a lot of People Know This

I love the Isle of Arran. I can paddle, climb mountains, scramble, and rock climb, and it’s so peaceful. It’s such a quiet, calming island that keeps me returning for more.

What Fellow Travellers Say About Lara

Both of our guides (Lara and Caroline) were great. They did a great job working with the different dynamics of our group. They were both very pleasant and professional.
