The epitome of class, Glencoe House is a stunning Victorian mansion house boasting 5 star suite accommodation. The former home of Lord Strathcona is set in the heart of the Scottish Highlands, with an extensive 10 acres of woodlands and gardens. The grounds are lovely – the perfect place to stretch your legs and absorb the stunning views of the glen. Here you can admire the impressive Pap of Glencoe or gaze across the calm waters of Loch Leven.

Glencoe House is more than just a hotel – it is a private country house escape. Each large suite in the main house is bright and spacious with elegant period décor and fine furnishings. The suites feature a private sitting room and dining area where you will be served breakfast and if you desire, you might like to avail of its comfort and privacy and take your evening meal there as well.

All suites come with a personal ‘maxi’ bar which includes a range of alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages and gorgeous bathrooms featuring one or two slippers baths, perfect for kicking back and relaxing. Some suites also benefit from a ‘hot tub with a view’, enabling you to enjoy the scenery from your own private terrace.

Next to the mansion are the modern and tastefully decorated Strathcona Lodges, which allow for even more privacy and independence as they are self-catered. The lodges come equipped with a fully-stocked kitchen, cosy sitting rooms with wood burners, ensuite bedrooms and private walled gardens with a hot tub. If not heading out for a meal in the evening, you can select pre-prepared gourmet meals to warm up at your own leisure.

    Local Experiences

    Private Tour of Castle Stalker

Take a private boat trip to Castle Stalker which dates back to around 1446. Here we will be given a private guided tour by one of the members of the Stewart Allward family who own the castle. The castle was made famous after an appearance in one of the popular British comedy Monty Python films. It’s island location also gives us the perfect opportunity to look out for seals, dolphins and sea birds.

Guided Hiking in Glencoe or Rannoch Moor

Explore Scotland’s most majestic and photogenic glen on foot. Glencoe is known for its hills, with icons like Buachaille Etive Mor, the Pap of Glencoe and Bidean Nam Bian towering impressively above the valley floor. In the company of an expert guide embark on a walking adventure, benefitting from his hiking expertise and local knowledge. If you’re not wanting to head into hills, head into the wilderness instead! Rannoch Moor, an impressively remote and wild area, borders Glencoe and is a great place to visit for soaking up atmospheric views and spotting wildlife.
