      Available by berth or as a private charter, a prestigious train journey and stay on The Royal Scotsman is perhaps one of the most timeless and classic luxury travel experiences available in Scotland.

      From boarding via royal escort in Edinburgh’s Waverley Station to rolling north through the majestic mountains and lochs of the Scottish Highlands with special stops and outdoor activities prearranged along the way, a journey on this world-famous train is sure to inspire and captivate.

      Onboard, the train lacks for nothing with twenty ensuite State Cabins with showers (15 twins, 3 doubles and 4 singles), an onboard spa, outdoor viewing verandah, two elegant dining cars and a bar car. The food and drink offering onboard is a real highlight too and a wonderfully extravagant experience in itself with each menu celebrating Scotland’s fresh produce and fine local fare.

      Wilderness Fine Dining & Stargazing

      Have an adventure under the stars as you enjoy a private wilderness dining experience before joining an astronomer to learn the wonders of the cosmos. Our wilderness mobile dining experience is second to none and offers clients the chance to dine in comfort and style within a fully serviced, heated mobile dining unit at a remote location in the UK’s largest National Park.

      Insiders Whisky Tour & Tasting

      Everyone wants to taste whisky in Scotland but go to a regular distillery and it’s a very standard experience. We have access to a private whisky distillery and also a private (and super-quirky!) gin distillery. These are not open to the public so you’ll be the only visitors there and be shown around by the master distillers themselves.

      Wildlife Watching

      There are many opportunities for wildlife watching whilst aboard the Royal Scotsman. Travelling through beautiful estates, past gorgeous beaches and underneath impressive mountains means we’ve got a range of habitats ready to explore. On a dedicated excursion with a wildlife expert, either on foot, by boat or by 4×4, you’ll learn more about Scotland’s native flora and fauna. Your guide will help you spot things both large and small and tell you all about the behaviours on show.
