Great trip and great experience. I would have liked more hiking but the trip went as advertised. I also liked the boat ride but too long. I think 90 minutes on a boat would have been plenty.

We LOVED our trip through the Outer Hebrides. It was well organized, and our guides were AMAZING. Each day they had our gear ready to go, gave us route options and expectations, had great suggestions for highlights and stops, provided coffee/break stops with full service tea/coffee, they were super friendly, fun and knowledgeable about cycling and the region we were traveling. Each of our hotels and the locations were fabulous. This was truly a trip of a lifetime for us and was facilitated so beautifully by our guides and the Wilderness Scotland team. Thank you.

Accommodation & Food

We loved the Polachar Inn and Hotel Hebrides - they were top notch and their locations were brilliant.

Your Guide

Peter and John were top notch guides - they were incredibly organized, on-point with all the trip details, they kept us all engaged and inspired, and everyday they provided us with various route options to ensure our group was fulfilled and satisfied. They were super friendly, fun, informative and knowledgeable about our routes, the regions we were exploring, Scottish and Highland/Hebridean culture and history. They went all out to ensure we had an amazing experience in Scotland and with Wilderness Scotland. All in all they were incredible trip facilitators and such a pleasure to have as guides for our adventure.

AMAZING! Our experience with Wilderness Scotland and our guides was phenomenal - this was a trip of a lifetime and the delivery and facilitation was seamless, exceeding all expectations.

Pre-trip the communication was excellent! Chris, then communication hand-off to Bridget - was great- Chris was so excellent at finding the right balance in our itinerary and getting me super comfortable with the service. This was our first guided experience- and Scotland has been a lifelong dream to visit--- i was really nervous about messing it up, but Chris held my hand through the whole process.

To be honest, Im not sure where to begin. I was so unsure of the "guided" portion of the experience, as this was meant to be a bonding experience for my 3 sons, my brother and myself. I was nervous to add a human into the mix that we didn't know--but almost immediately after linking up with Scottie in Inverness, all those worrthies fell away. Every piece of this trip was a dream. The very first day hiking the Black Cuillin took all of us aback. The incredible drive through the Isle of Sky to the charter boat, to the jelly fish blooms knocking out the engine on the boot...to the first hike up Sgùrr na Strì(i think? lol)...to a quick picnic by the first loch- ...we were completely awestruck, and that was only our first full day! Sea kayaking through the Scares for my sons 16th b-day (Scottie smuggling a bday cake to a secret beach)--to amazing surprises like Scottie taking us for a bit of a sauna and cold plunge afternoon on one of the most beautiful lochs --- the boys still talk about it. I could probably go on and on ...the trip was perfect- everything i had hoped for and more in our first visit. Maybe the only place i have ever visited where i didn't really want to go home. BUT i need to say, without Scottie- we would have not had near the experience. Not only was Scottie instantly part of the family- he was so tuned into the "troops" moral day to day- and knowing when to pivot, speed things up, or slow things down. More importantly, if something on the agenda wasn't the right vibe (like unfortunately being beat to a great waterfall by too many other tourists)--Scottie knew what we were after and could immediately pivot to find an equivalent or likely even better adventure for the day. Having an experienced (and local) guide- to be able to read the day and fill every single pocket of time was incredible, know when to stop for a bit of history and when to pull over, wade across some water and play a bit of football on a sunny day on an island on a lock in the most beautiful place on earth. Thank you

Accommodation & Food

i think the accommodations worked for our crew. this trip was not about fancy hotel rooms and fine dining for us- but we really loved every place we stayed. Each had its own charm and accommodated our crew nicely. The Ravenscraig in Aviemore was our favorite - perfect rooms, perfect food-- and the meal we had that night in town was absolutely incredible.

Your Guide

please see my last longwinded blurb--- can't say enough good things about Scottie. Went from being the only part of the trip i was hesitant to book (originally wanted self-guided)--- but Chris suggested that one of your guides would be a real value-add, and he was completely right. It takes a lot to organize 5 peoples schedules for 10 days....so many times throughout the trip i would think to myself, "wow, without Scottie, we would have wasted half the day trying to get around that or find that place or avoid those tourists"--- Scottie really helped cram soooooo much into every day without it feeling overwhelming. ...and incredibliy...he knew when to give me and the kids space to have moments that breathed.

Perfect trip in every way. We wanted to see the highlands-- and for the time we were there, I feel like we really saw so much. It left us all so excited to come back
