After getting a degree in Scottish literature from Aberdeen University I took off to travel and spent a few years teaching skiing in Canada and New Zealand. The lure of home was strong though and as much as I loved having adventures all over the world my heart will always be in the highlands. Being part of the Wilderness Team means that I can live and work in my own playground! My role as Program Manager means that I get to spend most of my day talking about Scotland’s incredible wild places and the amazing ways we can explore them. More often than not if you are interested in our scheduled or tailor made holidays, it’ll be me on the other end of the phone.

Place to play
My favourite place in Scotland is Sandwood Bay in the far North West. It’s inaccessible by car so ever year I walk or bike in with a sleeping bag and tent and pitch up in time to watch the sunset. There’s a great fishing spot where you can catch mackerel and cook them up on the spot. It’s not unusual to see an otter swim up and eat his meal just a few meters away; I’ve also spotted whales from the cliffs above the beach!
Not a lot of people know this
It’s possible I have the world’s largest collection of wooly hats* and sunglasses. Also, if I was a Disney princess I would definitely be Elsa from Frozen. * Not scientifically proven
