    Mini Bio

I’m originally from West Cork in Ireland, where growing up close to the sea and the land instilled in me a deep love of wild places and the stories they hold. In 2016, I took my first steps into nature conservation while living in Australia, which led to guiding my first walk along the vast Great Australian Bight, which was the experience that firmly set me on a path of working outdoors.

I moved to Scotland in 2018 and began working as a wildlife ranger and guide along the west coast, before gradually moving into freelance outdoor guiding. My work weaves together ecology, mythology, and a curiosity for archaeology, with a particular fascination for how people once lived and the long relationships between plants, landscapes, and communities through time.

Alongside guiding, I am also a yoga teacher, and I hold a strong belief that time spent in nature, moving, breathing, hearing stories, and paying attention is the best way to connect with the wilderness and live an enriching life.

    Favourite Place to Play

Walking, hiking or cycling anywhere along the west coast – where the sun sets, and the waters are turquoise. Gairloch, Arisaig, and Fionnphort are a few of my favourites.

Not a lot of People Know This

How I got my very first guiding job was quite interesting. When I was 22, I was hitchhiking in Australia from Cape York (there were no buses!), and the man who picked me up happened to own a tour boat in Cairns. Alas, I landed my first job as a snorkel tour guide in the beautiful turquoise waters of the Great Barrier Reef.
