    I call the Cairngorms home, where the land’s contours echo the shape of my soul and the mountains rest as if in a timeless slumber. Married to Morag, I have been a soldier, a sailor, a mountaineer, an explorer, a farmer and a fisherman—many lives, all leading me here.
