John Muir Trust Peak Partner

We are proud to have become a John Muir Trust Peak Partner.

Although we have supported conservation group, the John Muir Trust for a number of years, we have now formalised this relationship.

“When I was a child in Scotland, I was fond of everything that was wild, and all my life I’ve been growing fonder and fonder of wild places and wild creatures.”

John Muir

What does it mean?

Thanks to the generosity of our clients, our Conservation Contribution scheme generates a significant amount of funding that will now be completely donated to the John Muir Trust. We are making a commitment of a minimum of £5,000 per year. (Previously these funds were shared across a number of conservation groups). The John Muir Trust can rely on this investment to go towards conservation projects that we also have a deep connection to.

What conservation work are we supporting?

This year we have decided to support the John Muir Trust as they work in a part of Scotland very special to us, the Isle of Skye.

Watch this short film to learn how the John Muir Trust are conserving wild land on the Isle of Skye.

As one of Scotland’s most popular tourist areas, the Isle of Skye is under a lot of pressure when it comes to maintaining wild areas. There are over 60km of paths that allow a huge variety of walking here. However, the work to maintain these paths adds up.

The pathwork done by the John Muir Trust here aims to provide continued and improved access to the spectacular landscape, to repair the worst affected paths, to retain the area’s scenic beauty and to minimise the impact on fragile habitats – addressing damaged areas where paths have spread or been washed away, and allowing plant, animal and birdlife to flourish.
