The trips featured here are available for private groups of two or more people. They are designed to allow you to explore the magnificent landscapes of the Scottish Highlands while enjoying a number of activities on the way. Trips are designed as self guided walk or cycling, or self-drive.

Depending on the trip, you may be joined by a guide on certain days for planned activities.

The Bottom Line

Pre-Trip Service

Everything was excellent--Sinead clearly "got" who we were, and tailored her resources to our interests. Even though there's an 8 hour time difference, communications were smooth and timely. Some of her suggestions helped shape our trip in ways we could not have done on our own. Truly outstanding.

Trip Comments

Highlights: the guided hikes and explorations that led us to memorable and meaningful places--bard school remains, an ancient well, carved circles, standing stones--shown us by these guides so that we could grasp and learn of Behan law, and bardic, druid practices, and the levels of history that lead to today. Also, the places we stayed, the restaurant suggestions, and even more practically, the maps, routes for our self-guided time. The pubs for music! even suggestions for what we might do next as we went off on our own toward other parts of Ireland, after our 3 days they'd arranged were over.

Accommodation & Food

We wouldn't have found either of the places we stayed, and enjoyed them! Loved some of the restaurants, and found some on our own, when the day we were there, the restaurants suggested were closed. This wasn't a problem for us, but it's one tiny detail if it's an area you are working on.

Your Guide

Kayne was incredible--the hike itself, his knowledge of plants, history, lore, stay with me. The places he led us, and what he knew about them--all was stunning! We also loved our time with AhVeen (Sorry, I can't spell her name!). She was delightful, and so inspired by her love and knowledge that it was infectious. The several sites she took us to, were also stunning. What days we had with both of them! Including some laughs and knowledge to share for any questions we had.

The Bottom Line

A+ to Wilderness Ireland--personal service, flexible, accessible, careful, responsive to specific interests. I will recommend them to friends and hope to return to Ireland and have them help me with my next trip! We were encouraged to keep reaching out, even while we were there, if we needed anything. We didn't do that, because all was more than well! And because we were happily busy following what they'd planned for us. But I have no doubt that if we'd called, they would have been there for us.
