Why choose Tailor Made for your holiday?

Perhaps you like an itinerary but the dates don’t work for you. No problem! We can run it just for you as a private departure, perhaps customising some elements of it, such as upgraded accommodation. Maybe you are travelling with friends or family and would prefer the intimacy and flexibility of a private trip. Or maybe you just want to tap into our expertise and have us create a truly magical holiday, just for you. We can also deliver outstanding experiences for corporate groups. Simply contact us and we’ll get to work!
Wilderness Scotland tailor made holidays are available for any group size. Small groups (less than 4 people) share fixed costs (such as guides and transfers) across fewer people so the per person cost tends to be higher with smaller groups. However, smaller groups benefit from a more personal service, so it is still good value for money.

Wilderness Scotland operates all across the country, from the islands of Shetland and Orkney in the north, the Cairngorms National Park in the east, the Outer Hebrides and St Kilda in the west right down to the Trossachs and the Scottish Borders in the south.
We also regularly join forces with our sister company Wilderness Ireland and can package tours that incorporate both Scotland and Ireland in one mega tour.
Our network of luxury accommodation partners in each area is unrivalled, so if there is a particular place you wish to visit, do let us know and we can design your itinerary accordingly.

When should I book?

Given that we create each trip from scratch, the earlier the better. Many of our custom trips are created and booked more than 6 months in advance.
Generally, it is very challenging to create and deliver a custom trip with less than 8 weeks notice, especially during the busy summer period. The later you leave it, the more challenging the process becomes and you may need to compromise on your preferred hotel or activities if they are unavailable on your travel dates. It’s never too early to start planning!
The more details you can give us at the start, the better-equipped we are to design your perfect trip. When getting in touch, first of all consider locations you would like to visit, activities you would like to include, standard of accommodation that you would like to stay in and what your budget is. Also let us know if you have any must do’s or must sees!

Call us for some inspiration, or use the fantastic Interactive Holiday Builder on our website to let us know about your dream adventure holiday in Scotland. The earlier you can let us know you are a planning a tailor-made tour the better, this means we are more likely to secure the best hotels on your preferred travel dates. Booking early also means that we are more likely to have one of our senior guides lead your trip.
Your dedicated trip designer will provide you with an initial overview of what we think your holiday could look like so we can make sure that we are heading along the right lines. Then we’ll work closely with you to finesse the details of your customised trip.

Pricing and Confirmation

Once we have agreed on an itinerary, we will price the trip for you and provide a more detailed proposal, if required. Each custom trip is priced completely from scratch as each one is different so this can take a couple of days – bear with us!
With the itinerary, number of travellers and trip price agreed we will take a 25% deposit to confirm your booking. Once we have received your payment we will go ahead and secure your accommodations and source the best guide to lead your holiday. If having seen the pricing, you want to make a change before confirming the trip, we may ask for an initial deposit of £500. The balance of the deposit would then be taken when the final itinerary and price is agreed.
Then, no later than 4 weeks before you are due to travel, we will send you a final information document with all the information you require. We’ll then follow up with a phone call 2 weeks before you travel to answer any last minute questions. Your dedicated trip designer will, of course, be on hand to help with any queries you may have at any point.
When you arrive to start your holiday everything will be taken care of, leaving you to relax and enjoy your truly unique Wilderness Scotland adventure!
