    Scottish Food & Drink

    A Taste of Scotland

For centuries, Scotland’s food culture has been shaped by its geography and climate — think simple, hearty dishes made from local produce, game, and fish. In coastal communities, smoked fish, shellfish, and seaweed were staples; inland, oats, barley, and root vegetables formed the backbone of the Scottish diet.

Today, these time-honoured traditions meet modern creativity, with chefs and producers reviving ancient recipes and embracing sustainable, local food sourcing to celebrate the best of Scotland’s natural larder.

    in your own words

I very much enjoyed this holiday, lovely scenery, challenging but very do-able walking, pleasant bunch of people to walk with and a great guide. It was a well worthwhile trip in a beautiful part of the world. Accommodation, food and organisation was of a consistently good standard. I would certainly consider another trip with Wilderness Scotland.
