A Glasgow lass with a big heart for the misty glens and mountains of Scotland. Having bagged many munros – Scottish hills over 3000 ft – across Scotland and been to many less readily accessible and known places in Scotland, I have also toured many other countries as an independent traveller around Europe and further afield including Australia, East Africa, New Zealand, South East Asia, India and China. It was in these places that I gained a passion for their histories and discovering new cultures and lifestyles. These experiences inspired me to study for a degree in International Tourism Management focusing on sustainable tourism at Edinburgh Napier University. However, I am proud to say Scotland is very much my home!
Place to Play
Much of my youth was spent in GlenLyon in Perthshire, which is Scotland’s longest glen. This hidden gem is full of mountains, lochs, rivers and amazing wildlife including stags, eagles, red squirrels, otters and even beaver. It even has a Highland castle and ancient standing stones. Here, I loved nothing more than walking in the mountains with my dad, cycling, camping, swimming in the rivers in summer and skiing in winter. It’s a real outdoor adventurer’s paradise.
Not a lot of people know this
Aside from my love for the great outdoors, I was a model for a well-known clothing company (Urban Outfitters) while I was studying in Edinburgh.
