Mini bio
During a particularly nomadic period of my life many years ago a Masai read my fortune and told me I’d end up living in Scotland. I didn’t believe him at the time, but it appears that he was right! To be honest, it’s a pretty special place to be, and I’m always learning new things about her, from her wild moods to natural history, flora, and fauna. I love sharing these with others.
I love any journeys that are human-powered, and journey through nature, the more remote the better.
Place to play
New places always intrigue me, and I have a natural urge to see around the next corner. But I have a great love for Islands whether swimming to them, cycling around them sea kayaking or sailing between them. I particularly love places where mountains meet the sea, like the NW, and I love the Argyll coastline.
Not a lot of people know this
I once had to stand in a pyranha-infested river to dig out sand with a plastic dinner plate so our dugout boat could continue down the shallow river to an estancia frequented by jaguars!
