    Mini Bio

Settled now in Cumbria, England. The Lake District National Park is a place I love for work and play. Originally from Devon and brought up in Wiltshire I also spent time living in the Scottish Highlands, working for Outward Bound Loch Eil. So, Outdoor Education and personal development work is within my very core.

Over my career I have worked with both adults and young people helping folks learn and grow in some amazing places; from Nepal and Peru to Norway and Poland.  In recent years I have guided a lot in Northern England and love enabling guests to get the very most out of their holiday.

To balance my guiding I am also in the process of writing a novel and renovating my home – and on the odd spare moment I might just be found swimming in a lake or paddling my kayak.

    Place to Play

Sea kayaking on the West Coast of Scotland – Particularly the Arisaig area.

Not a lot of people know this

I’ve shaved my hair off twice – once for fun and once for charity.

I’m terms of outdoor adventures – probably a Sea Kayak trip From Fort William to the Isle of Skye – we were beset with hideous weather – but made it from Loch Eil to Oban, up the sound of Mull, around a very choppy Ardnamurchan and then along to Arisaig – a brief trip South due to a family bereavement before a final push to the Skye Bridge.

It was initially intended as an even bigger trip (around NW Scotland) but sometimes life just has other ideas – I’m over the disappointment now – and can celebrate how far we did paddle. The biggest adventure of all . . . Life!!!

    Adventurer's Stories about Jo

Jo was an amazing and conscientious guide. Jo made a point of chatting and including everybody in the conversation. We had a small group and everyone got along so well. By the end of the trip I felt like I gained a few more friends!
