Since I was a young child, I have always loved the outdoors being brought up in the countryside, after meeting my husband David my enthusiasm became even greater, he introduced me to mountains (we didn’t have any in the flatlands of Norfolk) and that was it, totally hooked. If it wasn’t for him, I would not be doing what I love now. All our spare time was out somewhere, dragging our children over moors and mountains regardless of the weather. Holidays abroad would always include walks for us especially once children had left home. I also kayak and cycle although walking is my main love. One thing led to another and my eldest suggested doing my ML and getting out of the office environment and into the outdoors permanently. So here I am ready to show others our wonderful countryside and hope to instil that sense of peace when outside, whether hills, beaches or country lanes.

Locally the Arrochar Alps just north of Glasgow, such a small area, and such great walking, ultimately, who doesn’t just love Skye and its diverse landscape?

I used to be a pretty good horsewoman.

Who doesn’t love flowers? Wild ones especially are a wonderful spectacle when in season, I don’t profess to be an expert, but I am a very keen wildflower lover.

What Fellow Travellers Say About Julie

Julie Buckley is amazing!! She is knowledgable and answered so many of our amature bird watching questions. She really made this trip and the memories for us and I am so thankful to have had her as our guide.

Julie was AMAZING!! So sweet and very knowledgeable! We had an absolute blast exploring the isles with her, and she showed us all sorts of paths we never would have found on our own! On the day we had bad weather she found alternative things to do (like driving around and looking for wildlife), and she was great at finding good viewpoints on our hikes. Julie is a huge part of why our trip with Wilderness Scotland was so amazing and we are very thankful to have had her as our guide!!

Julie was a perfect guide for our group. She paced our day and hikes based on feedback of what we liked. She was thoughtful and listened well. A great problem solver when things didn't go quite as planned.

Julie was a very good guide. As the weather was some what mixed Julie had to adapt the walks and find some alternative activities, all of which were enjoyable.

Julie was really great; she had a lot of challenges with the weather and ferries. She handled it like a champion. Even rigged one of hiker's boots!
