First catch your Lobster… Sailing around Skye

An exciting addition to the onboard entertainment on the Eda Frandsen this year was Jamie the Skipper’s purchase of two lobster pots. On the sailing trip in September this year we set these out in Loch Scavaig, a stunning anchorage nestled under the imposing black crags of the Cuillin.
Come morning we hauled the pots on and to our delight found we had caught a massive number of Edible Crab and… a single Lobster! There was much excitement on deck and we soon sorted the catch, most of it going back unscathed.
After taking some photos of these edible delights, Penny cooked them up for us. Later that day we sat at anchor and Jamie gave us all a lesson in how to extract the meat from inside the tough armour of the shell. That done all we had to do next was sit down and eat them! Fresh Crab and Lobster with a green salad and a nice glass of white wine to wash it down, it can be a tough life this guiding lark.
