      Adventure Consultant Custom Specialist

      Join the Wilderness Scotland Sales Team

      The Adventure Consultant – Custom Specialist plays a key role within the Wilderness Scotland team, designing one-off adventure holidays for clients who want a truly unique adventure experience.

      This role requires an experienced sales expert with a proven track record of sales, problem-solving and outstanding customer service. The successful applicant will have experience of the various activities offered by Wilderness Scotland, as well as a good practical knowledge of the different regions of Scotland and Northern England where we operate. Using this experience you will be able to understand the client’s needs, taking them from a lead and converting them to a booking by creating a personalised itinerary which will excite potential clients and when delivered, will exceed client expectations. Working closely with the rest of the sales team, the Custom Trip Specialist handles enquiries from direct clients from across the globe.

      Job Description

      95% office based

      Responsibilities & Expectations

      • Handling requests for custom trips in Scotland and England from clients across the globe
      • Following the company sales processes to ensure that we reach ambitious sales targets, while always being sure to create trips for clients which fit within our company ethics and style
      • Working with the Operations Team to ensure that converted enquiries are delivered to the highest standards
      • Providing an exceptional level of client care at all stages of the sales process
      • Ensuring that clients receive all relevant information in a timely manner
      • Cultivate and maintain relationships with clients 

      Skills, Knowledge & Experience

      • Minimum of 3 years relevant custom travel sales experience
      • Practical experience of all or most of the activities offered by Wilderness Scotland
      • Practical travel experience of Scotland and Northern England, particularly of the Highlands and Islands
      • Detailed knowledge of Scotland, Northern England and the travel and tourism industry, ideally possessing a good understanding of the adventure travel sector
      • Good ITC skills including MS Office or Apple equivalent, Google Drive plus experience of CRM systems

      • Proven ability to follow sales processes and meet ambitious sales targets, prioritising tasks and maintaining attention to detail during times of pressure
      • A creative mind which allows you to envision itineraries which will match the client’s aspirations while being deliverable and in line with our style of travel and working practices
      • Highly developed interpersonal skills, awareness and emotional intelligence with an ability to develop and sustain client relationships
      • A strong and clear commitment to customer service excellence and “extra mile” delivery
      • A genuine interest and passion for Scotland, wild places and adventure
