I found the correspondence and the support was perfect. I loved the packing list help, the recommended reading, and the quick response to questions. all was perfect.
Our trip was great in spite of very challenging weather. Some schedule adjustments had to be made, but we adapted well and our guide was totally on top of it. I thought the hikes, the hotels and the food were all ideal. And our team got along really well, and we were from all over the world, which I really enjoyed. I was sad to say goodbye.
Accommodation & Food
I loved the Uig Hotel on Skye. I thought the Harris Hotel was also good. Maybe a bit more rundown, but atmospheric and still very good. I wouldn't rate it excellent, but the Uig was definitely excellent. I would stay at Harris again, however.
Alan was a pleasure. He had a million stories and historical anecdotes. He adjusted our routes everyday given the challenging weather. He knew our skills and tried to do what was right for the group recognizing different skill levels and interests. I thought he was a delight. Very easy going, kind, committed and skilled. I would take another trip with him as the guide happily.
The Bottom Line
I had a week I'll never forget. I just hope I can do it again next year. I was really proud of myself and all I accomplished, and I had such a great time with the people. But mostly, I just really loved being out in the wilderness (it really was the wilderness!) enjoying unforgettable scenery every day. The trip was incredibly well planned and organized and there were no glitches. The food, the hotels, the guide, the scenery, the adventure were all just what I wished for. Thank you.
