 Client Kudos

Every client receives a feedback survey when they return from their guided, self guided or tailor made holiday with us.

Once completed the review is published on our website just as soon as our database updates. The little touches and details are important to us and where issues are raised we make positive changes to our trips to improve your experience.

That’s why we read each of our client’s reviews and although we don’t respond to all of them, if it’s glowing feedback then we get the satisfaction of helping to make your holidays truly memorable.

What what made the trip good was the professionalism of the guide and his choice of places to walk. The beautiful weather was a bonus. The hotel was alright with good food and friendly service.

David Russell was very nice and helpful.

The advice and materials were very good except that there was not enough information/preparation for toilet facilities along the way. Other hikers had key cards for compostable toilets, though there were very few of those. I wish someone had given specific help regarding where to find facilities since the path was often too exposed for just going off into the bushes. Also I wasn't told I might need a shovel. Someone said there would be businesses along the way where we could ask to use the toilet, but some long stretches of the path had no businesses.
Accommodation and Food
Some of the accommodations were very nice but not all were. Sometimes there was no option for enough heat in the rooms nor a way to dry soaked clothing. Other hikers we met had much nicer B&B's. I wish we had upgraded.
Your Guide
The materials were great except more detail in the print-outs about the B&B's and directions to them would help.
The Bottom Line
Very good organization that I would use again but maybe just for a guided hike.

Well organised and timed. Accommodation was good, cycling was a bit tough for me. Too much carrying/pushing the bike which I didn't expect.

Occasionally got a little flustered with the responsibility of looking after 8 blokes! Overall good and looked after me personally very well.
The Bottom Line
Be prepared for carrying/pushing your bike. Very technical, this is not trail riding!

The Highland Way didn't disappoint. The stages were of good length and built gradually to the longest day so fitness had increased by then. Loch Lomond and the Moor were so beautiful.

Duncan was an fabulous guide for many reasons. First,y at the end of each day he provided an overview of the next day highlighting any potentially difficult parts, giving accurate walk times, and detailing breaks. Secondly he gave us an overview of the map each morning. Thirdly he had great interpersonal skills and made a point if connecting with each person multiple times a day. Thirdly it was clear that our safety was his top priority. Making a difficult decision to cancel the climb over the Devils staircase was obviously hard for him but the weather was scary. He then provided and alternative walk for the day once we were bused to our next stop. I can't speak highly enough if his professional conduct and would love to do another trip with him.
The Bottom Line
The Highland Way was a great walking experience. Daily walking distances were very do-able and accomodation on the way was very comfortable. Our guide, Duncan, was awesome. Overall a fabulous walking trip.

LIked that there was a number I could call from the U.S. I got all the answers I needed. I was able to start emailing directly to a member of the staff that I had talked to and ask additional questions as needed.
Trip Comments
There were definitely weather challenges as can happen in Scotland. I had confidence in the trip leader, Luke Partridge, and his assistant, Sarah, that they always had our safety in mind and had excellent experience and judgement on which to base decisions. It was clear that Luke wanted us to kayak as much as possible and had legitimate reasons when there was a day we could not kayak and another day when our trip had to be aborted.
Accommodation and Food
There definitely was a certain charm to the bunkhouse with its great views.
Although we were generally a compatible group of 8, sharing such tight quarters had it's challenges.
Your Guide
See my previous comment about the trip that speaks to my confidence in the trip leaders. In addition, I was generally impressed with the leader's teaching style that was supportive, taught and reinforced skills incrementally, and encouraged each participant to try and to discover techniques that worked.
The Bottom Line
A competent company that is dedicated to helping people discover and explore the best of Scotland with leaders who are trained and reliable.

The trip started with Craig losing the keys for the mini bus and ended with the door falling off the mini bus. Everything in between was superb.

Not sure it would be possible to improve the food.

The first B&B had great breakfasts and cake on return. One restaurant visited in the the first section on the second night had fantastic food, the Glen Uig Inn had a very high standard for its evening meals and the packed lunches were pretty good too.
Your Guide
Clearly very experienced and good company, while providing a lot of information on the area.
The Bottom Line
Excellent guides, geat location and food. The only thing I'd do to improve the trip for me personally is to speak to the guides first as I booked on a trip that was not as demanding as I'd normally choose and you have to remember in some instances this will limit what you can do by the capabilities of others in the group, the guides will not always be able to split the group etc.
