I work for Wilderness Scotland and lead groups in the mountains and work as an assistant guide on canoe and sea kayaking expeditions both in Scotland and overseas.
It is very important for me to have kit that is of the highest quality and well thought through. I need to wear kit that will not let me down when I need it most.
I use my jacket for hiking in the mountains of Scotland and Nepal, for ski touring in Scotland and in the Alps, and for canoeing along the lochs of Scotland. The jacket really stands out and I am often asked about it by clients. I love the pit zips and especially love all the pockets which are so useful for carrying maps, phones, gloves, hats etc.
I know that when I reach for this jacket when packing for an expedition, then I will be kept dry and warm wherever I go. Its kept its colour well and the pocket zips are all still functioning like they were new even after a few years of hard use.
Could be better:
It has leaked a few times when the heavens have really opened and there has been a huge downpour, but then every jacket will likely do this. The hood closure system could be a little stronger so the wind doesn’t keep filling out the hood.
Fantastic jacket, suitable for anyone who has a love for the outdoors and needs a top quality garment to keep out the rain and cold.
Adventuring on a Wilderness Walking journey is the perfect excuse to wear your new Haglofs jacket.
